Paravan SpaceDrive is a drive-by-wire system that replaces your steering wheel, pedals, or both with electronic controls — fitted and calibrated to your precise needs by our Hemel Hempstead team. It's a triple-redundant, road-approved system used by drivers with limited strength, reduced movement, or no use of their limbs, and it can be switched back to standard controls at any time.

High safety standards
Built to the same standards as the rest of your car.
SpaceDrive is a triple-redundant, fail-safe system, road-approved under ECE R79 (steering), ECE R13 (braking) and ECE R10 (electromagnetic compatibility), and built to ISO 26262 (ASIL D) — the same functional safety standard used across the automotive industry.
You can switch back to conventional controls at any time, and our team handles diagnostics and servicing so the system stays reliable for years, not just at fitting.
Input devices
Six input devices — choose the control that matches your movement.
Every SpaceDrive input device is configured to your specific condition and can be adjusted or replaced as your needs change.
Joystick
Two- or four-directional control, mechanically adjustable, with digital sensitivity settings. Gear Control can be integrated into the same joystick.
Mini steering wheel
A 15cm electronic steering wheel, adjustable to residual strength, with tri-pin, fork or knob fittings.
Acceleration/brake lever
A digital lever for combined acceleration and braking, suitable for users with very limited hand function.
Rotational steering device
Wrist-controlled digital steering with an adjustable angle of rotation and mechanically adjustable return force.
Parabolic steering
Shoulder-movement steering with a reduced angle of rotation, designed for users with very limited arm strength.
Foot-operated steering
Steering by foot for drivers without use of their arms, fitted alongside the other pedals.
Fitted by our own engineers
Our Hemel Hempstead team calibrate every SpaceDrive system in-house — no subcontracting between assessment and fitting.

Ongoing diagnostics and servicing from Hemel Hempstead — you're not sending your vehicle away or waiting on a distant specialist.

Is SpaceDrive available on the Motability Scheme?
Yes — SpaceDrive is available on the Motability Scheme. Our workshop is in Hemel Hempstead and we regularly fit and service vehicles across the UK that can be brought to us or collected — get in touch to learn more.
Can I switch back to normal driving controls?
Yes — SpaceDrive allows you to switch back to conventional controls at any time, which is useful if the vehicle is shared with another driver.
How long does fitting and calibration take?
This depends on your specific input device configuration — we will confirm timing at your assessment and keep you updated throughout the fitting.
