Four-point security, done properly
Whether a wheelchair user is travelling as a passenger or driving the vehicle themselves, the securement needs to be rock solid. As a rule of thumb, a wheelchair travelling as a passenger should be held by four separate tie-down points — two at the front, two at the rear — with the occupant then wearing a proper 3-point seat belt on top. That's the standard SDL always works to, and the standard we'll help you achieve.
Not every situation calls for the same hardware, though. A passenger who transfers out of their chair for every journey has very different needs to someone who wants to drive from the wheelchair itself. That's why we offer three distinct systems here — a Q'Straint solution built around automated docking and heavy-duty retractors, Dahl Engineering's TÜV-tested electric docking stations, and the EZ Lock system with over three decades in the field and 180,000+ units installed.

The world leader in wheelchair and occupant securement, offering both a driver-focused automated docking system and a full four-point passenger tie-down range.
If the wheelchair user is the one driving, the QLK-150 is the flagship option — an automated docking system designed to look and feel like part of the vehicle rather than an add-on. It's paired with the largest bracket library in the industry, including brackets only compatible with QLK hardware.
- Dash control and remote release — a slim, low-profile dash pad with LED status, plus an optional key-fob remote so a carer can release the chair from outside the vehicle.
- Advanced stabiliser — replaces the older stabilising fork, letting the chair sit securely in the driving position without sacrificing manoeuvrability.
- Adjustable ground clearance — base mounts from 1.5" (38mm) up to 4" (100mm), so even low-clearance power chairs can be docked safely.
- Triple-direction crash testing — the only docking system independently tested forward, rearward and sideways, and the first to meet the higher WC19 load requirement.
For passengers who stay seated in their own chair without driving, the QRT-350 and QRT-550 retractors deliver four-point securement with self-tensioning reels — rated to 150kg and a class-leading 200kg respectively — while meeting the WC18 standard.

Dahl Engineering
Dahl docking systems — Mk II and VarioDock
Danish-engineered electric docking stations, independently TÜV-certified and tested against one of the widest approved wheelchair lists in Europe.
Dahl Engineering builds two complementary docking stations. The Docking Station Mk II is the longer-standing model — the only docking system on the market TÜV-certified to the EU's M1 vehicle safety requirements, and proven in testing to withstand a combined wheelchair-and-passenger load in excess of 200kg when used alongside a conventional floor-mounted seatbelt.
The newer VarioDock adds electric height adjustment to the same core mechanism, and because Dahl designed it around the existing bracket standard, almost every chair already approved for the Mk II will also dock with VarioDock. It can also anchor Dahl's own COMFORT and HYBRID vehicle seating.
- TÜV-tested fitting kits — approved to ECE regulations 14 and 17 and EU regulation 2018/858, so the whole installation is certified, not just the docking head.

EZ Lock
EZ Lock automatic docking system
A no-fuss docking base with over three decades on the road and more units installed than any comparable system.
EZ Lock strips wheelchair docking back to its simplest, most dependable form. An interface bracket fitted to the wheelchair carries a docking pin; the driver or passenger guides that pin into the V-shaped opening of the floor-mounted base and rolls forward a few inches. A pair of steel locking levers close around the pin and hold the chair firmly in place, with the onboard electronics monitoring docking status for the rest of the journey.
Because the whole process is self-directed, EZ Lock suits both wheelchair drivers and seated passengers who want to secure themselves without waiting for assistance — and interface brackets are available across a wide range of power and manual chairs.
