Start your car at the push of a button, with no key to insert or turn
If inserting and turning an ignition key is difficult or impossible for you, our push button ignition and start switches take the struggle out of it. You drop your key into a pot, press one button for ignition and a second to start the engine — all fitted and set up for you by our specialist team.

How push button ignition and start works
With push button ignition and start from Steering Developments, two button switches and a key pot replace the need to insert and turn the ignition key.
You simply drop your key into a suitably located pot to turn the immobiliser off, press button one to switch on the ignition, then press button two to start the engine. Please note that the original steering lock is removed from your vehicle as part of the installation.

The push button switches can be fitted almost anywhere in the car to suit your reach and strength, and we can separate the buttons from the key pot so each sits exactly where it works best for you. Everything is wired in, tested and handed over ready to use.

Do I still need my car key?
Yes. You drop the key into a pot in the car, which de-activates the engine immobiliser. The buttons then handle ignition and starting.
Does anything have to be removed from my car?
The original steering lock is removed from the vehicle as part of the installation.
Can the buttons go anywhere I like?
Almost. The switches can be fitted in a wide range of positions, and we can keep them separate from the key pot so they suit your reach.
