A dry, secure home for your wheelchair — on the roof, not in the boot
The Chair Topper is a fully automated rooftop storage solution that lifts, loads and retrieves your folding-frame wheelchair using a weatherproof box mounted on a standard roof rack. Since the wheelchair never enters the cabin, there is no mud, dirt or wet wheels to deal with, and no seats or boot space lost to storage.
It suits independent drivers as well as passengers. Choose driver-side or passenger-side loading so the wheelchair is always delivered right to the door you use, and operate the whole cycle from a simple remote control or, with the optional receiver fitted, the BraunAbility Remote smartphone app.
An integrated manual back-up means you are never left stranded if there is ever a power issue, and because fitting uses your car's existing roof rack, no permanent modification is needed — so the unit can move with you to your next vehicle.

Common questions
How heavy a wheelchair can it lift?
The Chair Topper lifts most folding-frame wheelchairs up to 20 kg. The combined roof load is 75 kg maximum, and this must sit within your vehicle's own roof loading capacity.
Will fitting damage my car?
No. It mounts on a standard roof rack and the cables run through existing channels behind the windscreen seal, so there is no drilling and no permanent modification.
What happens if the power fails?
An integrated manual back-up lets you retrieve your wheelchair, so you are never left stranded.
