The Left Foot Accelerator Pedal is designed for drivers who have a vehicle with an automatic gearbox but are unable to use their right leg to operate the accelerator and brake pedals.
A second accelerator pedal is fitted to the left side of the brake. You simply push the left pedal down – this causes the right side one to fold up and out of the way. Pressing the right pedal down puts the car back to normal.
For extra safety, the pedals are connected together so that only one pedal can be used at any one time. No danger of another driver mistaking the left pedal for a clutch!

Cowal developed the Twin Flip-Up left foot accelerator concept over 30 years ago, and it remains one of the best solutions for drivers who cannot operate the accelerator pedal in an automatic vehicle.
