Radial hand controls are similar to push-pull controls. The lever is mounted underneath the steering wheel but closer to the rim than the push-pull type. Pushing the lever down (towards the floor) operates the accelerator. At any position, the lever can be pushed away from you to put the brakes on.
Because there is more room for the lever to move, both brake and accelerator functions are lighter than a push-pull control.
An added bonus is that the weight of your hand and arm is enough to hold the accelerator in any position making this type of hand control the most relaxing of all!
Indicator and other switches can be added to the control lever for extra convenience.
If you can't rely on your feet to control the brake and accelerator pedals, you can operate both functions using just one hand.
Steer with one hand, operate the brake and accelerator with the other - it's simple! Less effort required than a push-pull.
Radial Hand Controls are ideal for:
- Drivers who cannot reliably use either leg or foot
- Drivers who have reasonable upper body strength
- Drivers who find push-pull hand controls a bit heavy to use
New cars and models are being added to the list of those completed by us all the time. If your car type is not listed on the downloadable pdf, then please call us for pricing and whether this is achievable. Note, it doesn't have to be a brand new car to have this modification done.
