SDL SUPPLY FORUM WITH TWO ASSESSMENT CHRYSLER VOYAGER ENTERVANS
SDL has now delivered TWO Chrysler Entervans to the UK Forum of Mobility centres to compliment their fleet of assessment vehicles. These vehicles will be utilised by Forum staff to carry out driving assessments, resulting in an accurate reflection of a clients special needs.
Each Entervan comes with a range of adaptations including SDL`s unique Lifestyle wheelchair which can be used by a driver or passenger.

This client required a classic sports car adapted to be driven with Shoulder steering and specially located brake and accelerator pedals to provide a complete mobility solution.
VW T5 MODIFIED WITH JANY FLOOR SYSTEM
SDL are now able to supply the new VW T5 and other similar vehicle types with the latest Jany floor system.Jany is a Danish Company that specialises in integrated flexible floor systems, quick release seats and floor tracking all tested to M1 standards and approved by TUV Rheinland.
SCOOTER PROBLEM SOLVED USING THE CAROLIFT BOOT HOIST!
The problem was to find a solution to transport and store a scooter including the seat in the customer`s vehicle.Solution - to fit a Carolift (90kg) boot mounted hoist into their Renault Kangoo.
The other problem was that the scooter was too large to be kept in their flat so a device was needed to take the batteries out of the scooter so they can be re-charged overnight, the idea being that the scooter is left stored in the vehicle.
Solution - a strap was made and attached to the batteries so that the hoist can lift them out of the scooter.
Outcome - one very happy customer!

SPECIALIST ADAPTATIONS FOR SMALL STATURE CLIENTS.
This project details the solutions we found to enable a small stature client to drive a Peugeot 206 with a height adjustable false floor c/w remote and brake and gas pedals. This car also has a removable back rest insert to provide the correct seating posture.
The adaptations can be easily removed so that an able bodied person can drive the car.

Small stature client with electric wheelchair requires TOTAL independence!
This client is actively working and needed a new car to extend her mobility. An automatic Ford Focus was selected as it could accomodate all of the criteria needed ie:# Adequate roof top loading for Chairtopper & electric wheelchair.
# Wide opening driver`s door to enable access.
# Hydraulic power steering to facilitate lightening.
Swivel seat & Carony system fitted to Ford C Max
This client needed the flexibility of the new Ford C Max and wanted her husband to travel in the front passenger position without the need to transfer him from the wheelchair. This is how we did it:
Semi-Ambulant client, Hoist wheelchair into boot and walk to drivers station
The challenge here was to make the loading of the wheelchair into the boot area of a Renault Scenic as easy as posible without the need to fold or unfold the wheelchair.This client had already purchased one of SDL`s Lifestyle JW1 power assist units and had it fitted onto her Sunrise Breezy SL manual wheelchair.
All that was needed was a CAROLIFT wheelchair hoist to complete the mobility package.

This Client has a 4 wheel drive Shogun with 7 seats, an SDL Lifestyle Plus electic wheelchair and a family to transport!It was also important for the wheelchair user to sit in the front passenger position. This is how we achieved it.
SDL`s done it again - Turny swivel seat into Toyota Previa
This client required their child to be transfered into the centre seat position of a Toyota Previa retaining all the other seats in the vehicle.The Turny swivel seat fitted with a Recaro seat and arm rests was the solution, maintaining the ability of the car to transport the entire family.
Tiller Steering system c/w Electric Brake & Gas
This client already owned a Left Hand Drive Chrysler Voyager Entervan and wanted to drive from a wheelchair. Part of the brief was to accommodate an able-bodied driver at the same position with interchangeable front seats.

PROBLEM:This client already owned a Range Rover with a tailgate type rear door and needed to load his new Balder electric wheelchair into the back of his car.SOLUTION:To supply and install a Bruno VSL690 Hoist 180Kg capacity) c/w power extending boom and rotate.

Special adaptations to a Left Hand Drive Nissan Micra automatic with Steering developments Tiller steering system, electric seating and a Chairtopper rooftop storage system for the wheelchair. Kuschall Lightweight folding wheelchair c/w Lifestyle JW1 power assist
This development has been achieved by Steering Developments to meet customer demand for a lightweight powered folding wheelchair that can be stowed on the roof of a car using SDL’s Braun Chairtopper resulting in “a complete independent mobility solution”
SDL`s Turny swivel seat fitted to the Drivers position of a Ford Galaxy
Another first for Steering Developments engineers to achieve this customer request. A combination of “Quick release steering wheel” and “Powered fore/aft seat sliders” resulted in ample space to access the vehicle. This solution is “an assisted driver” as the electric wheelchair is stowed in the boot by a friend.
