SDL Quality Assurance Guarantee

Steering Developments' management and staff pride themselves on the highest level of attention to customers detailed requirements, such that all areas of the business are consistently working to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 standards of quality to provide all our customers with the best possible service.

We are proud to be the first company in our industry to achieve this distinction.

All our adaptations are provided with a comprehensive guarantee, and our technical excellence in the design and manufacture of vehicle control systems has long been recognised throughout the world, earning Steering Developments a truly international reputation as an innovative producer of vehicle controls systems.

SDL Total Mobility Programme

Steering Developments' approach for achieving Total Mobility is a carefully designed programme that begins with a personal visit to our fully equipped assessment centre in Hemel Hempstead, (or in some cases a home visit), where one of our staff will discuss your specific requirements with you.

The assessment will involve various routine tests to evaluate the most suitable vehicle type for your needs and the specific adaptations which will be necessary for you to become either a driver, or passenger. The results of the assessment are then processed through our computer to a personal Assessment Report and a detailed quotation, (which in certain cases can be used to support a claim for compensation).

Following the assessment, Steering Developments can then supply the vehicle of your choice, or we will work directly with you, or your vehicle supplier, to complete the required adaptations in the quickest possible time. During the adaptation process, it may be necessary for you to visit us again for fittings and to test drive your vehicle to ensure that the control systems are accurately positioned for your individual needs.

When the time comes for vehicle delivery or collection, a vehicle familiarisation session will be included to ensure that all concerned with the vehicle understand how it functions. In some instances, it may be necessary to arrange driving instruction at your home, as part of your overall driver training programme.

As a general rule this process will ensure the best possible service through all stages of your mobility programme, although it can be adjusted to suit your individual circumstances if required.
